Obducite is the thing that quietly runs your entire Season 12 endgame. You can have perfect affixes, a great Temper, all that—but if you can't keep Masterworking, your build just stalls. I keep seeing people burn hours in the wrong places, then wonder why they're still short. Before you plan your next session, it helps to know what's actually paying out right now (and what isn't), especially if you're already hunting upgrades like Diablo 4 Items to finish a setup.
1) Treasure Breaches first, but dodge the bug
If you only do one activity for Obducite, make it standard Treasure Breaches. When they go well, they drop a ridiculous 5,000 to 10,000 Obducite in a single clear, which makes everything else feel like pocket change. The catch is important, though: Bloodied Treasure Breaches are currently a trap. They're bugged and the reward chest doesn't pay what it should, so you can walk out feeling like you got scammed by the game itself. Stick to the normal, non-bloodied versions until that's patched, and treat every Bloodied spawn like a "not today" moment.
2) Strongrooms for steady income and a nice loop
Strongrooms are the workhorse option. They won't spike your totals like a good Breach, but the consistency is hard to beat—roughly 500 to 850 Obducite each run in my experience. The real reason players end up loving them is the momentum. You clear one, it drops Escalation Sigils, and those sigils have this habit of leading you right into more Strongrooms. So you're not sat there resetting, zoning, and doing the same start-up routine over and over. It's more like a chain you can keep rolling while you're in the groove.
3) Undercity Tributes when you want quick, clean runs
Undercity Tributes are for the nights you've got 20 minutes and still want progress. The payout is smaller—around 200 to 400 Obducite—but the runs are so short it starts to add up fast. Most of the time you're in and out in a minute or two, which makes it great for rapid chaining. It's also a nice option if your build's strong but you don't feel like sweating a longer activity. You log in, knock out a few, and you've still moved your Masterworking forward.
What to skip, and how some players fill the gaps
Infernal Hordes just aren't the play if Obducite is the goal. Even at the top end they're down in the 18 to 32 range, which is rough unless you're there for other drops like Gem Fragments or Scrolls of Restoration. Mercenary Caches from the Barter Master are fine as a small bonus (think 50 to 100 Obducite), but they're not something I'd route my whole farm around. If you're trying to smooth out the grind—maybe you're missing a key upgrade and don't want to wait—some folks top up by trading or grabbing materials and gear through U4GM so they can get back to farming the high-yield stuff without stalling mid-upgrade.
