Let's get the obvious Berserk tribute out

.

Let's get the obvious Berserk tribute out of the way first.Elden Ring's huge world has many areas I've nicknamed "sword field." It's true, the title isn't exactly innovative: They're simply small areas covered in swords. All are stabbed first into the ground in order to stand up. In Elden Ring Runes the middle of each is a much larger sword, with an inscription that generally gives a little bit of information regarding the history of the game.

When I first was in one of these sword fields, it instantly reminded me of Berserk's infamous Hill of Swords. In both anime and manga, this Hill of Swords is meant as a tribute for the fallen soldiers of the Band of the Hawk, a mercenary force that serves as the series' main characters for a large portion of its initial run. Rickert, one of the army's few surviving members, forges the countless blades of the Hill of Swords as tribute to his former fellow soldiers.

My personal belief is that Elden Ring's sword fields serve the same purpose. I like to think they're meant to commemorate Miura and his passing affected people who were familiar with his work. Whether they were added to Elden Ring before or after the death of Miura, we'll not know, but it's certainly a appropriate tribute to the man who influenced so many of buy Elden Ring Items the games' predecessors.
