ReSound is one of the best-known names in hearing care, and it is among the brands we fit at The Hearing Centre. Known for natural sound quality and strong smartphone connectivity, ReSound offers a range of styles and technology levels, which can make choosing between models confusing.
This guide explains what ReSound offers, how the main product families differ, and how to work out which one might suit your hearing and lifestyle.
ReSound is the flagship brand of GN Hearing, one of the world’s larger manufacturers of premium hearing aids. ReSound hearing aids are prescription devices, which means they are programmed by an audiologist using the results of your hearing test rather than bought off the shelf.
Vivia is ReSound’s newest flagship platform, released in 2025. It uses artificial intelligence to separate speech from background noise, and it includes a very small micro receiver-in-ear model for people who want something discreet. Vivia is currently offered in receiver-in-ear styles.
Nexia is the previous flagship generation and remains a strong option. Its main advantage is choice of style, since it is available as completely-in-canal, in-the-canal, mini receiver-in-ear, standard receiver-in-ear, and behind-the-ear models. This makes it useful for people who want a custom in-ear device or need a style that Vivia does not offer.
Savi is a receiver-in-ear line that shares many premium features with Vivia but without the AI processing, which can make it a more modest option for people who want modern features without the top-tier technology.
ReSound also offers more powerful and specialised devices, including options for more significant hearing loss. Your audiologist can advise which are suitable for your hearing profile and what is currently available.
On some Vivia and Nexia models, ReSound adds a third microphone inside the ear canal alongside the two standard microphones. The idea is to capture sound closer to how the ear naturally receives it, which can help with locating where sounds come from and with reducing wind noise.
Vivia and Nexia support the newer Bluetooth LE Audio standard and Auracast broadcast audio. This allows direct streaming from compatible phones and, as more venues adopt it, access to broadcast audio in places such as airports and theatres. We cover how this works in more detail in our guide to Hearing Aid Technology and Features.
The ReSound Smart 3D app lets wearers adjust volume and programs from a smartphone. Some models also support tap controls, and ReSound offers a range of wireless accessories such as remote microphones and TV streamers.
Many current ReSound models use lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, which suit people who prefer a simple nightly charging routine over changing small batteries.
Style is as important as technology. Our guide to the Types of Hearing Aids in Singapore explains how receiver-in-ear, behind-the-ear and in-the-ear devices differ in comfort, visibility and power.
Even the most advanced hearing aid only performs as well as its programming. That starts with an accurate Hearing Test Singapore, followed by a fitting based on your results, your ear shape, and the situations you most want to hear well in. Model availability can change, so it is always worth confirming current options with your audiologist.
For an independent overview of the current ReSound range, HearingTracker publishes a regularly updated guide to ReSound hearing aid models and features.
Curious how ReSound compares with other brands for your hearing? Our audiologists can walk you through the options and let you try suitable models before you decide.
